Title: Perimeter Red

Author: Meghan White

GoodReads Description: A group of mixed species tries to escape the oppressive rule of the Regen Stronghold. Through gains, losses, races, and battles, they all learn what it means to be truly free.

Synopsis: Xaverie is scheduled to attend one of Second Earth’s most prestigious schools, despite her “illegal” status. She soon becomes an integral part of a group of peers, and they all come to find that the school is more than it seems to be. Every cage has a lock that can be picked, and this group is about to break free. However, freedom has its own consequences, and Xaverie and her friends will find themselves in more trouble than they can imagine.

My Rating: 5/5

My Review: For a new author, Meghan White has done an AMAZING job with Perimeter Red. The setting, the characters, the plot…everything about this book is just perfect. I haven’t quite finished it yet, having about 10 more pages to go yet, but that’s only because I don’t want this book to end!

With the year coming to a rapid end, I have decided to do an IMM to get this blog back up and running before the new year. I don’t have a ton of books, but I do have several, so let’s get started!

The first book is one I purchased just today with the purpose of reviewing it after the first of the year.

Perimeter Red – Meghan White

Sophie’s Choice – William Styron

The Host – Stephanie Meyer

The Name of the Wind – Patrick Rothfuss

The Wise Man’s Fear – Patrick Rothfuss

Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell

Les Miserables – Victor Hugo

Wildwood and Under Wildwood – Colin Meloy

Paper Towns – John Green

As Good as She Imagined: My Review

I think it’s safe to say that we all remember January 8, 2011. That day in Tucson, Arizona when a young girl named Christina-Taylor Green was to meet congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and was killed. I didn’t expect this book to give me much more insight on the incident than what the news had, but boy…was I wrong. The emotions within in the first chapter leaped out and grabbed me, compelling me to read on though I knew where each sentence would take me. I could hardly put this book down and I recommend it for everyone to read in their lifetime.

NaNoWriMo 2011 has officially ended. My intended goal for this month was 60,000. Did I make it? No, but I did make 52,000 which I’m more than happy with. That’s 1,000 more words than last year! How did YOU do? Are congrats in order? At any rate, whether you made 50k or even 10k, congrats on your valiant effort this month, Wrimos!

Wow!!!

About a week ago, I received a package in the mail. In that package was…my first ARC! I have been reading it off and on since I received it and I will do a full review once I’ve finished it. Be on the lookout!
